Which Type of Visa Can I Apply to Come to China?

With the rapid development of China's economy, more and more foreigners are coming to China to visit, study, work or settle down. Visa has become a necessary condition. MYDUS has prepared the following applicant range of different types of visas for you.Please read carefully and apply for the visa according to the main purpose of your visit to China:

Type of Visa

C visa: Crew member performing duties on board an international train; Crew member performing duties on board an international aircraft; Crew member performing duties on board an international vessel or accompanying family member; Vehicle driver engaged in international transportation services;

D visa: Person coming to China to take up permanent residence

F visa: Academic exchanges; Cultural exchanges (enon-profit performance); Religious exchanges; NGO activities; Volunteering(90 days or less); Foreign expert with pre-approved letters of invitation ; Geographic surveying and mapping activities;

G Visa: Transit through China

J1 Visa: Resident foreign journalist of permanent office of a foreign news agency in China

J2 Visa: Foreign journalist visiting China for short-term news coverage

L visa: Independent tourist; Group member

M visa: Trade; Participation in Competition(s);Other commercial activities;

Q1 Visa: Family member of Chinese citizen applying for residence in China for family reunion, Family member of foreigner(s) with permanent residence status in China who is applying for residence in China for a family reunion, Residence visa for child to be fostered in China.

Q2 visa: Relative of Chinese citizen(s) living in China applying for a visa for visit less than 180 days, Relative of foreigner(s) with permanent residence status in China applying for a visa for visit less than 180 days.

R visa: Foreigner of high talent or specialist needed by the State;

S1 Visa: Spouse, parent, child under the age of 18 or parent-in-law of foreigner(s) residing in China for work, study or other purposes who visit China for 180 days or more, Person who needs to reside in China for other personal matters

S2 Visa: Family member of foreigner(s) staying or residing in China for work, study or other purposes who visit China for less than 180 days, Applying for a visa to stay in China for other personal matters, such as handling litigation, inheritance, real estate or medical treatment

X1 Visa: Long term study (more than 180 days)

X2 Visa: Short term study (no more than 180 days)

Z Visa: Foreign expert working in China; For commercial performance; Chief representative or representative of a foreign company; Offshore oil operations; Volunteering (more than 90 days);  Foreigner working in China with a Work Permit issued by the Chinese government

Basic Application Document

When applying for a visa, you need to have the following ducuments ready:

Passport: Valid for more than 6 months, the original passport with blank visa page and passport photo data page 1 copy.

2. Certificate of Legal Stay or Residence (for those applying for a visa outside their country of nationality) : If you are applying for a visa outside your country of nationality, you need to provide valid proof of legal stay, residence, work or study in the host country or the original and photocopy of a valid visa.

3. Original Chinese passport or original Chinese visa (applicable to those who used to have Chinese nationality but later became a foreign nationality) : If you are applying for a Chinese visa for the first time, you must provide the original 4. Chinese passport and a copy of the photo data sheet of the passport; If you have been granted a Chinese visa and apply for a visa with a newly issued foreign passport, you should provide the photo information page of your original foreign passport and a copy of your previous Chinese visa (if the name on your new passport is different from that on your original passport, you should also provide the relevant official name change documents).
